Well I braved the cold and went to a couple of early morning sales yestiday. The wind was blowing so hard it tore my car door out of my hand. At the first sale a friendly dog came out to say hello--she was a sweetheart. I bought a coca cola polar bear cookie jar and some faux fiesta ware and then jumped back in the car and turned the heater up full blast. The second sale was held by a small group of college students who were delighted (as in look at the sweet old lady, isn't she cute) when I bought a "Wiley" glass. It's a large oversize drink glass you can take to one of the local watering holes on a certain night and get mixed drinks for cheap--I am really on the lookout of for one of the old style ones from back in day 19 aught 90 or so for myself but decided to get one and put it up on fleabay for kicks. At the same sale I bought an obnoxiously colored pink bike--I have been looking for a cruiser style bike for a long time. I took it straight down to the bike shop in town for a lube, oil, filter. "This bike has been painted pink" the bike shop service dude declared, much in the style of a CSI. "Yes, I know, thank you sir, please don't rain on my parade", thought I as I spelled the word pickle for him (why do they need my email addy anyway?).
In the afternoon we went thrifting over in Moscow. We ran across a local celebrity in the Antique Mall--Mary Jane Butters of Mary Jane's farm. She's very beautiful and very petite looking IRL. DH was on the hunt so didn't notice her. We bought a few things-something for me for my b-day and some small knick knacks to sell. Then on to the Hope Thrift Center and the Good Swill. We didn't buy a lot, we were just reconning-DH picked up something at the Antique Mall and turned it over to find a Good Will price tag still on the bottom. At the HTC I found a bunch of Paste Magazine sampler CD's and few books. We topped off the afternoon by going to dinner at Winger's so we could watch Duke v WV.
